Team

Emily Riches - Founder

Hi, I'm Emily, the founder of Aniko Press. I'm a writer and editor originally from Mullumbimby. I now live and work in Sydney, on Gadigal/Cammeraygal land. I've been an editor for ten years, with an editing and publishing qualification from UTS. I've always been passionate about books, writing and the arts. My own writing has appeared in Australian publications such as Meniscus, Visible Ink, Verge, Southerly, Seizure Online and Spineless Wonders. I started Aniko Press with the aim of bringing readers and writers together, championing new voices and creating a space for creative community. It's been amazing so far!

Leo Kohn - Operations Manager

Leo is our manager-extraordinaire. As a lawyer, he organises all the bits and pieces of Aniko behind the scenes. He has a love for longform storytelling and can often be found reading the news.

Elaine Chennatt - Reviewer and Interviewer

Elaine Chennatt is a writer, educator and psychology student currently residing in nipaluna. She has a special interest in bibliotherapy (how we use literature to make sense of our lives) and is endlessly curious about the creative philosophies of others. She lives with her husband and two bossy dachshunds on the not-so-sunny side of the river (IYKYK). Find her online at wordswithelaine.com

Fruzsina Gál - Reviewer

Fruzsina Gál is an aspiring writer and book reviewer from Hungary, currently residing in Naarm/Melbourne. She has been a reader all her life, and she finds unexplainable joy in forcing literary revelations into the hands of friends, family, and strangers. When she's not reading or writing, she likes to even out her nerdy side by doing martial arts or going for hikes. You can find her online at fruzsinagal.com.

Col McElwaine - Art and Design

Col McElwaine is an Australian illustrator and designer. Working in publishing, advertising and motion, Col was shortlisted for the 2021 and 2022 World Illustration awards in the editorial category. His client list includes The Washington Post, NBC, NYT, The Financial Times, Taste, Vice, The Big Issue, Coles, NAB, Fullers, Creative Mornings and more. Currently based in Meanjin, Col has experience working for a number of agencies in Australia, Scotland and England. You can find him online at colmcelwaine.com and @colmcelwaine.

Martha David Jetis - Editorial intern

Martha David Jetis is a student from England, who spends her time oscillating between her two loves: science and literature. Her first word was “book” – a passion that has only grown. Whatever happens after she graduates, she hopes there will always be room in her life for books and writing. When not in the labs, you can find her in bookstores, usually in the poetry section, or online at mdavidjetis@gmail.com.
